What is the prayer of petition?
Petitions written in the form of prayers are powerful tools for speaking into existence what you pray for. These petitioning prayers contain Biblical sustenance to fuel your prayer, desire, or petition, as well as specific promises, outcomes, and affirmations from the Bible.
Petition (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others), and thanksgivings are to be offered, according to One Timothy 2:1 (AMP). Habakkuk 2:2-3 confirms this: “Write the vision; And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets.”
You must determine the “what” of your reason for praying. I enjoy writing my petitions with the help of Holy Spirit, and my first few were all handwritten until I realized how much time it saves me to type them now.
If you want to improve your finances, write specific goals that should fall into place, be specific, and intertwine these specifics with scripture. I usually include the person’s name (if the prayer is for someone other than myself) and the desired solution to the situation.
There is a scripture that corresponds to each goal, desire, or petition; make sure to jot down two or more scriptures next to each one. 2 Corinthians 13:1 says, “Every fact shall be sustained and confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”
Mark 11:24 says that whatever you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have received it, and Romans 10:8 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God is something you should pray out loud so that you can build faith when you hear it.
The petitioning prayers are rich in God’s Word: “The word of God is alive and active,” according to Hebrews 4:12, and “the tongue has the power of life and death,” according to Proverbs 18:21.
