Fear of Failure
God frequently pushes us beyond our perceptions of what is possible, calling us to tasks that appear to be beyond our abilities.
1. God Is Patient with Insecure Saints
Moses is called to a difficult task in Exodus, and God patiently responds that he will be with him. Moses’ successor, Joshua, also doubted his ability. Esther feared approaching the king, knowing it would be a risk, but God saved the entire nation through her obedience.
2. God Will Equip Us
God will equip us for the tasks he assigns us, just as he did for Moses with Aaron and his staff. God does not call us to something only to leave us to fend for ourselves; he is with us, he provides for us, and he enables us to complete the task.
3. God Enables Us to Cast off Fear with Trust
When we argue or doubt, we are failing to trust the God who has promised to be with us and equip us. God loves to stretch us beyond what we think we are capable of, and he will see that we complete the task if he has clearly called us to it.
