r/Christian – Faith Crisis (please help): Whenever I pray for help or for something, the exact opposite happens
I’ve been struggling with something that’s really affecting my ability to trust and believe God cares about my well-being; I normally don’t reach out to strangers when I’m in a bad spot, but I honestly don’t know what else to do and don’t want to be judged. Whenever I pray to God for help or for something, said thing suddenly gets worse. Job lost everything, including his health, but he digged deeper.

Why does God not give us what we ask?
Takeaway: God always answers prayers, even when the answer is no; we don’t always get what we want because God wants us to be self-sufficient; rather than using God as a crutch, he wants to know if we still have faith even when he doesn’t give us what we want.
Does God care about what you want?
God is able to do abundantly more than we can ask for, think about, or pray for, just as Solomon was able to do abundantly more than we can ask for, think about, or pray for. God’s heart is to do even more than you are asking for.
What is the prayer that never fails?
There are none who can withstand Your power, Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee (three times).

How Will I Know If My Prayer Has Been Answered?
- If you fall, He’ll catch you. If He wants you to go a certain way, He’ll open a door for you. If God doesn’t want you to go that way, you’ll meet a closed door.
How does God speak to us?
