Breaking the Shackles of Shame
The first step to overcoming shame is to accept what cannot be changed. David didn’t try to pretend he was innocent, but he also didn’t let the guilt trap rob him of the joy of a life redeemed. After betraying my girlfriend and “little brother,” I went from respected leader to despised traitor. Instead of turning inward to a pity party, I turned outward to a pity party.
