What to Do When You’re Waiting on God | Everyday Answers
We learn to live with it when we pray long and hard about a situation and receive no answers; God hears our prayers and is working out the answers. Waiting for answers is a fact of life; how we wait will determine how long we wait.
Two Ways to Wait
A passive person wishes for something good to happen and is willing to wait for it; on the other hand, an expectant person is hopeful, believing that the solution is just around the corner; his heart is full of hope, expecting his problem to be solved at any moment.
Expect It to Happen
When a woman is expecting, she carries the promise of a baby inside her, and she begins to plan for the baby’s arrival as soon as she learns of her pregnancy. She actively prepares for the baby’s arrival because she knows it’s only a matter of time.
Be Eager with Faith
When our hearts are eager to hear from God, He loves to rush in with His solution, and the waiting period often serves as a time of preparation for the answer.
Then All of a Sudden…
The story of Paul and Silas being attacked by a crowd, beaten, and thrown in jail is told in Acts 16:24, when the jailer places them in the inner prison (the dungeon) and fastens their feet in the stocks, but God appears around midnight.
