3 Times Specific Prayers Were Answered In My Life
I’m going to share three simple and specific prayers from Catherine Marshall, one of my spiritual heroes, that God answered loudly and definitively, albeit not always quickly, over the course of that year-and-a-half. The blessings are mine, but the glory is all God’s.
Specific Prayers that Make Dreams Come True (Praying for a Job)
Catherine Marshall’s book The Prayer That Makes Dreams Come True outlines a prayer that will help you achieve your goals.
1.) Write down your specific dreams.
You can apply to be a press secretary for a Christian Congressman from a specific political party, but you must be specific in your requests. No, “Oh, I want to grow in this area,” or “help him see this in his life,” but genuine, authentic, and specific requests.
2.) Put your dreams through a test.
Is it possible for you to wait patiently for God’s timing?
Catherine added this:
The Prayer of Relinquishment is an important part of the Dreaming Prayer sequence because it allows us to give our dreams to God to fulfill or not as He wishes, and then leave them with Him. This is why the prayer that brings dreams true must also include this prayer.
The Prayer of Relinquishment (Moving to D.C.)
Every route I’ve tried to get to D.C. recently has resulted in a dead end, so I prayed: Lord, clearly you’ve shut every door I’ve tried, so for the next two weeks, I’ll focus on praying rather than looking for work.
The Helpless Prayer (A Place to Live)
I immediately remembered a temporary housing facility where I had worked as an intern six years before, and God had miraculously (and quickly!) answered that prayer as well.
Will God make my wish come true?
We’ve been told that we have the power to make all of our dreams come true; however, even Christians can believe a lie: if we love and delight in God, all of our desires will be fulfilled ( Psalm 37:4-5 ).
Can you really ask God for anything?
Even though God already knows what you want and need, He wants you to ask Him for it. God can answer vague prayers, but being specific strengthens your relationship with Him. However, being specific does not guarantee that God will respond in the way you want.
How do you know if God will answer your prayers?
How Will I Know If My Prayer Has Been Answered?
- If you fall, He’ll catch you. If He wants you to go a certain way, He’ll open a door for you. If God doesn’t want you to go that way, you’ll meet a closed door.
What does it mean when your dreams come true?
When you have a dream that comes true or foreshadows a future event, experts say it’s most likely due to: Coincidence. Bad memory.
Can you ask God for signs?
God wants His people to rely on Him for deliverance, so asking Him for a sign today means we want to know what He has to say before we act. But God knows our motives, so if we’re asking for a sign for ourselves u2013 a selfish and pointless desire to know u2013 you won’t get one.
How do I talk to God?
It’s fine to pray with your eyes open and your head held high, just as it’s fine to pray kneeling and silent. It’s common to recite some traditional prayers out loud, but it’s also very common to pray silently to yourself.
How do I ask God for a miracle?
Pray with precision.
- As part of your prayer, repeat simple and direct phrases. For example, repeat the Catholic “Miracle Prayer,” which goes like this: “Lord Jesus, I come before Thee, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me.”
How do you know when God is telling you something?
Repetition, or when a theme or message jumps out at you repeatedly, is one of the most obvious ways God tries to get your attention. It can be through Scripture, sermons, articles, podcasts, or any other means He chooses.
Can God hear my prayers?
We are taught in the scriptures that if we address God with faith and real intent, He will always hear our prayers and will answer them; in our hearts, we will feel the confirmation that He does hear us, a sense of peace and calm; and we will also feel that everything will be fine if we follow the Father’s will.
Can prayer change things?
We can be confident that prayer changes thingsu2014including our own heartsu2014though our prayers do not change God’s mind.
Can Bad dreams Come True?
Remember that nightmares aren’t real and can’t hurt you, and that dreaming about something scary doesn’t mean it’ll happen in real life. Nightmares can be frightening at first, but you now know what to do.
Do morning dreams come true?
Dreams usually occur during deep sleep, which relaxes the body, mind, and spirit; however, dreams that occur early in the morning are more likely to be related to the present, and thus are perceived to be true,u201d Sandish adds.
What percentage of dreams come true?
Dreams are said to foretell the future by 68 percent of people, and 63 percent say at least one of their dreams has come true.
