Often asked: Should I Pray To God For Help?

How To Pray To God For Help When Life Feels Impossible

Discover your God-given purpose and live it out, even when life feels impossible. Praying to God for help when life feels impossible doesn’t require a poetry degree or perfectly rehearsed language. Principles were demonstrated many times in the Bible, but especially in the book of Acts.

God sent an angel to awaken Peter and lead him out of prison, right past every guard, because the church was exploding and the disciples were constantly seeking God’s guidance.

Before we uncover the 4 principles, let’s address the roadblocks that sometimes hinder our ability to pray to God for help.

I don’t have a secret way of praying that I haven’t told you about, but I will give you some advice: first, be aware of the true roadblock that prevents you from approaching God: sin; second, confess your sin if you have a disagreement with someone or God.

1. Learn to pray UNTO GOD.

We don’t pray “unto” God 50-75% of the time; what if, before saying a word in prayer, we consciously became aware of who we’re speaking to? It isn’t automatic, and it isn’t always easy, but it is possible.

Psalm 121: I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth, u2013 Psalm 121. Ponder God’s attributes by reading a Psalm.

Pray: God, I want to remember who You are. And I want to make sure that I’m speaking to You, not to the people I’m praying with, or not just to get my prayers done.

If you want to enter God’s presence, it doesn’t mean you’ve been a good boy or girl today; as a born-again Christian, you can only enter the Kingdom of God on earth through the blood of Jesus Christ.

2. We must pray earnestly.

An earnest prayer is a biblical term that means coming to God with all your heart, soul, and mind. It’s akin to a tired, terrified parent praying at 2 a.m. for their young child’s high fever to go away.
